You might say Lucas is the complete opposite of a snowbird. While many Mainers are more than happy to escape the winter blues down South, this Florida native is delighted to call the "Pine Tree State" home year round.
Lucas comes to WGME News 13 by way of Bangor, where he was a reporter/anchor for the local ABC affiliate station. Prior to that, Lucas completed his journalism degree at Boston University, while working two jobs - one as a freelance reporter for a cable news program, and one behind the scenes at WCVB, the local ABC station in Boston.
According to Lucas, of all his jobs to date, covering news in the Lewiston-Auburn communities is the most challenging and rewarding. "L/A is, perhaps, one of the most dynamic areas in Maine. Nowhere else in this state is there a place where so much change is happening all at once."
During his spare time, Lucas enjoys spending time with friends and family. One of his favorite spots in Maine to visit is Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor.
Lucas can be seen every weeknight during the evening shows, beginning at 5:00pm.
