In the past, he also anchored the weekend show, and reported out of the stations Lewiston bureau. John has covered thousands of stories in that time from all over the state, but he says the most memorable would be the "Ice Storm of 98."

"The power was out at my house for two weeks, so I lived in my office. I could definitely relate to what other people were going through, but the great thing was how everyone pulled together at a time when the weather wrapped ice around just about everything."

Usually, cold weather isn't a problem for John. He's an avid skier and snowman builder, and loves the Maine winters.
