| Maine's specialty license plates are a popular item to have on your car while driving around the state. And the state has 8 different options for you. The Sportsman's Plate is now available to motorists for an extra $20. The money earned from the plate goes to fish hatheris, boat launches, and other state programs promoting outdoor activities. The new plate features images of Mount Katahdin, a bull moose and a brook trout.
Governor Baldacci also signed a bill to create a specialty breast cancer awareness plate. Proceeeds from the sales of the plate help support the Maine Cancer Foundation, The Maine Breast Cancer Coalition and the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program.
